Battersea Spring Run Festival 2025

Today, I took part in a race called the Battersea Spring Run Festival. It was a tough race because there were lots of adults running alongside me. The race started inside the Battersea Park Millennium Arena stadium. We had to run out of the stadium, complete the race around the park, and then finish back inside the stadium. It was exciting but also challenging because I was running against older and taller competitors.

As I was running, I realised I was in second place for the girls. The girl in front of me was 11 years old, which made her three years older than me. She was also much taller, which made it harder to catch up. I kept pushing myself and tried to run as fast as I could. My pace was 4:07 per kilometre, and the total distance ended up being 2.6km, even though the race was meant to be 3km. I gave it everything I had and did my best to keep a strong pace throughout the run.

I had run this same race before in November 2024, and back then, I finished with a time of 11 minutes and 50 seconds. This time, I really wanted to run under 11 minutes to beat my previous best. I ran as fast as I could, and in the end, I finished with a time of 11:01. Even though I just missed my goal, I was still really proud of myself because I improved a lot from last time.

My age percentage score was 84.92%, which is a really strong result. Even though I didn’t come first, I felt happy because I had beaten my own personal best by a huge 49 seconds. To me, that was a big achievement, and it showed how much I had improved in just a few months. I was also delighted to receive a medal for my efforts, which made the race feel even more special.

I’m already looking forward to running this race again in November 2025. My next big goal is to finish in under 10 minutes if I can. I know it will be tough, but I will keep training hard and try my best. If I keep improving at this rate, I believe I can do it!
