Today I ran at Cassiobury Parkrun on 5th April 2025, and it was a really exciting run! As soon as the run started, I had to sprint up a hill, which made it a tough beginning. Hills are always hard, especially right at the start, but I tried to stay strong and keep my legs moving quickly.

While I was running, I started to feel quite tired. There were lots of uphill parts, and I had to work extra hard. My legs are quite small, so I feel like I have to move them more than most people just to keep up. But even though it was tough, I didn’t give up. I kept pushing myself all the way around the course.

I ended up running next to a lady I didn’t know. We didn’t talk, but it was nice to have someone there running at a similar pace. It helped me stay focused and keep a steady rhythm. Sometimes it helps to run with someone, even if you don’t know them, because it keeps you moving at the right speed.

The best part of the day was when I finished and saw my time—20 minutes and 54 seconds! I was so happy because that was a new personal best (PB) for me. My old PB was 21 minutes and 7 seconds, so I managed to beat it by 13 seconds, which felt amazing.

My average pace was 4 minutes and 9 seconds per kilometre, which is really fast. I was so proud of myself for keeping up that speed even with all the hills. It shows how much I’ve improved and how all my training is really starting to pay off.

Overall, it was a great run. I felt strong, I didn’t stop, and I got a new PB. I can’t wait to run again and see if I can go even faster next time!
